To Be, or Not to Be
The Bergmannstraße location has a long history of different business operations. As the most recent tenants moved out and emptied the space, the shell of a former cinema can still be seen in the visible construction. The Revival team were quick to act on making contact and setting up a viewing.
The Allotria Revival
Bringing back life to a one-hundred-year-old forgotten Berlin cinema. A new concept cinema to be constructed in the building previously home to the Kino Allotria, returning the historic venue to its former glory.
The Allotria was first established in the 1920s and evolved over the years seeing many different cinema operators. It is extremely exciting that a cinema can return to this amazing location.
The proposal sent detailed the plans for Bergmannstraße location to be converted into a multi-room cinema featuring one large 80-seat studio cinema with two smaller studio kinos for private events and group screenings. The multi-screen studio cinema would be joined by a seating area and bar where guests will be welcomed in the bar serving snacks and drinks before the films.
Not the Be
Not every proposal is suited to the needs and legal requirements of the venue and the owner. While we thought our plan was a perfect fit, the issues of noise interferences with neighbours and access to the property made it difficult to move forward with our plans. Our search for a new venue continues.
